Working Group on Environmental Auditing at the VII EUROSAI Congress  Krakow/Poland, 2-5 June 2008

  1.  Report  on the EUROSAI Working Group’s on Environmental Auditing activities 2005-2008 presented by the Group’s Coordinator (Poland)

  2. SAI of NORWAY APPOINTED A NEW GROUP'S COORDINATOR !!!
    (see the resolution adopted by the Congress)

  3. EUROSAI WGEA Special Subgroup on the Audit of Natural,Man-Caused Disasters Consequences and Radioactive Waste Elimination transformed into Task Force on the Audit of Natural, Man-Caused Disasters Consequences (see  the resolution adopted by the Congress)

  4. Poster exhibition “International environmental audits 2005-2008” displayed in the Congress lobby (The posters prepared by the SAIs of: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Norway, Poland, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine).

  5. Distribution of booklet “Environmental Auditing in Europe 2005- 2008” among the Congress participants. The booklet prepared by Poland  is based on information sent by 35 of the European SAIs.

  6. Signing  final audit reports finalizing the following international audits initiatives:

  •  Protecting the waters in theBug River catchment area from pollution (Belarus, Poland and Ukraine)
  •  Implementation of the Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal - theBasel Convention (Poland, the Slovak Republic and Ukraine)
  •  International coordinated audit of Chernobyl Shelter Fund (the European Court of Auditors,Germany, Poland,  the Russian Federation, the Slovak Republic, Switzerland, the USA, Ukraine)

 

VI EUROSAI WGEA members' meeting, Kyiv (Ukraine) 7-9 October 2008

The 2008 annual EUROSAI WGEA members' meeting will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine
on October 7-9, 2008. The future coordinator of the EUROSAI WGEA, the Office of the Auditor General of Norway, will host the meeting in kind cooperation with the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
 
The meeting will consist of a plenary session for organisational matters, and thematic seminars. The main topics of the seminars will be fisheries management and sustainable energy. Participants will have the opportunity to arrive on Monday, October 6, and depart on Friday, October 10.
 
The formal invitation letter was distributed at the EUROSAI Congress in Krakow in June and will be sent by mail immediately thereafter to the SAIs not participating there
